Vasectomies

Dr Brian Fox has been doing vasectomies for 20 years at Cranbourne Road Medical Centre.

Despite what is commonly heard this is a safe, simple operation with no major complications or problems to be concerned about.

Men wishing to have a Vasectomy need to make an initial booking for a consultation with Brian to discuss the process, possible side effects/complications and to ensure it is right for you.

The procedure usually takes 40 minutes but you are at the clinic for 60-90 minutes to ensure that you are fine to go home afterwards.You will need another person to drive you home. Vasectomies are done under a simple local anaesthetic which is well tolerated.  Occasionally a sedative may be administered in addition to the local anaesthetic.

Most men have 2 to 3 days off after a vasectomy before they return to normal activities but please discuss this with Dr Fox to decide on what suits you.
