Communication Policy
Telephone Calls Policy
In the interest of good patient care we ask that you make an appointment to discuss your health or that of a family member. However, we do understood that you may on occasion wish to speak to your doctor to ask a question over the telephone. Generally telephone calls will not be put through to your doctor directly whilst consulting with another patient.
Please telephone our reception team on 9783 9288 and provide a brief outline of the reason for your call and your call will then be transferred to one of our nurses who will communicate with your doctor. Our nurse will return your call at the earliest time practical.
You will always be put through to our nursing staff or a doctor in case of an emergency.
SMS Policy
We send all patients who are booked with a doctor and have provided a mobile telephone number an SMS appointment reminder on the day before your appointment. Please advise our reception staff if you do not wish to have SMS appointment reminders sent to you.
Email Policy
We do not transmit personal or medical information to a patient via email, as your privacy and confidentiality may be compromised when communicating by email without encryption.
Patients are encouraged to contact the office by telephone.
Facsimile Policy
Information sent by facsimile is covered by a Fax Cover sheet, which states:
“This facsimile transmission contains information intended only for the use of the individual(s) named on the transmission sheet. If you are not the intended recipient, please take note that any disclosure, copying, distribution or taking of any action in reliance on the contents of this facsimile transmission is strictly prohibited. If you have received this transmission in error, please notify us by telephone immediately so that we can arrange for the return of the documents to us at no cost to you”.
Communication by fax is generally only between a doctor and another healthcare provider.
